Dr Rachael Hickinbotham is a Sydney Obstetrician Gynaecologist with over 20 years of professional healthcare experience. As a private North Shore Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, Dr Hickinbotham is accredited to deliver mothers at The Mater and North Shore Private hospitals.
Alongside my obstetric practice, I also offer gynaecological care for women at all stages of life, with a particular interest in perimenopause, menopause and midlife women’s health.

A personal touch
I have always enjoyed caring for women through pregnancy and childbirth, and supporting them through the different stages of life. As a female Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, I take a personalised approach to care and value getting to know the women I feel privileged to care for.
I believe that good care starts with listening. I want you to have the time to talk about what is important to you, ask questions and understand your options. Whether you’re planning a pregnancy, having a baby or looking for support through perimenopause and menopause, or managing a gynaecological concern, I’m here to help support you and help you make informed decisions.
Qualifications
- Worked as an Intensive Care nurse while completing medical school at The University of Adelaide./li>
- Was awarded the Ian Furley Gold Medal in Obstetrics and Gynaecology
- Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG)
- Completed the Allan Ferrier Memorial Fellowship year at North Shore Private and the Mater Hospital.
- Is a member of the Australasian Menopause Society
- Is a member of the British Menopause Society
