Gynaecologist on Sydney's North Shore
I provide personalised gynaecological care for women at all stages of life, with a particular interest in perimenopause, menopause and midlife women’s health.
Time to talk it through
Longer consultations give me time to understand what you are experiencing, answer your questions and talk through your options together. I’ll make sure you understand the management options available to you and help you feel clear about next steps.
Areas of care
Perimenopause and menopause
Perimenopause is the time leading up to menopause, when changing hormone levels can affect your periods, sleep, mood, energy and how you feel day to day. These changes can be difficult to understand, particularly when they seem to come out of nowhere.
Menopause is when your periods stop permanently as your ovaries produce less oestrogen. This change in hormones can affect your sleep, mood and energy.
Midlife is an opportunity to take a fresh look at your health. As your body changes around perimenopause and after menopause, it’s a good time to consider your future health as well as how you feel today. We can review your individual risk factors and focus on the things that can make a difference over the long-term including heart and bone health, strength, lifestyle factors and disease prevention. Where appropriate, I’ll work closely with your GP so that your gynaecological care fits within the bigger picture of your health and wellbeing.
There’s no one-size-fits-all approach to perimenopause treatment or menopause. We will look at what you’re experiencing and what matters most to you, then talk through all of the options, including menopausal hormone therapy (MHT, often called HRT). Together, we will work through the options and develop a plan that is right for you.
Bleeding after menopause
Any bleeding after menopause should be checked. Most causes are not serious, but it’s important to find out why it is happening. I’ll assess your symptoms, arrange any appropriate investigations and explain the results and what happens next.
Premature Ovarian Insufficiency
Premature Ovarian Insufficiency (POI) can be an unexpected and difficult diagnosis, particularly when it happens earlier than expected. I can help you understand what is happening, talk you through your treatment options and make sure we also consider your long-term health, including your bone and heart health.
Menstrual Health
Heavy, irregular or painful periods can affect your everyday life and may have a number of causes. We’ll look at what you’re experiencing, work out whether any investigations are needed and talk through the treatment options available. Together, we will find the right approach.
Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS)
Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a common hormonal condition that can affect your periods, skin, weight and fertility. PCOS can affect women in different ways and at different stages of life. We’ll talk about how it is affecting you now and what matters most to you, whether it’s managing the symptoms, having regular cycles or planning pregnancy.
IUD and contraception
I offer IUD insertion and removal for both hormonal and copper IUDs. We’ll talk about which contraception is right for you.
Abnormal cervical screening and colposcopy
An abnormal cervical screening result can be worrying, but it doesn’t necessarily mean that something serious is wrong. I’ll explain what your result means, whether you need a colposcopy (closer look at the cervix) and what follow-up is recommended.

Perimenopause often begins in your 40s, although it can start earlier and last several years . Menopause is confirmed 12 months after your final period.
